As part of a sweeping reform of the German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, many of its bases across the nation are soon to be shut. One of them is likely to be the Oberschwaben base in Baden-Württemberg, one of the main local employers. Residents, businessmen and politicians are doing everything they can to prevent it from closing.
